Hello, Birds of a Feather Club!

Here are some sample showmanship questions you can expect

  • What country did the birds originate from?
  • What’s special about your breed?
  • What class is your bird in?
  • What other breeds are that class?
  • What is the gizzard used for?
  • What breed is your chicken?
  • What gender is your bird?
  • What was your bird bred for?
  • How long does it take for a chicken egg to hatch?
  • How can you tell physically a male from a female?
  • What other birds do you have?
  • What is your favorite bird?
  • How many lungs does a chicken have?
  • What kind of comb does your bird have?
  • What color should the shank be?
  • What would you change in your bird if breeding?
  • What are flight feathers?
  • What are secondary feathers?
  • How much protein is in your birds food?
  • How much protein should an adult layer have?
  • How much protein should a chick have?
  • What other vitamins and minerals should a bird have to keep them healthy?
  • Study the label on your feed bag, anatomy of the chicken, bird feather types, comb types and the
  • history of your bird and what other birds are in that class.
